MoHo heads out for M’Waaaaakie

We determined to leave our house on Saturday morning……So in typical fashion we actually left Sunday afternoon.  Since it was a late start we decided to stay at the Buttercup RV park and Spa. (Famous home of the “Buttercup Biker Boys”) This is a fabulous RV park with complimentary wine and potato salad; not to mention the fabulous chocolate cake. Thanks to the staff and owners for taking such good care of us!! Next morning we started out after a stop at Kiene’s fly shop to acquire a fishing license for Jodee. We got her a fishing vest and fishing videos…. but who would guess that a big time fly shop doesn’t carry fishing lincenses?!?!?    But we persevered and started climbing the Sierras over hiway 80. As we crept along at times doing only 30mph I would console myself with the idea that settlers in covered wagons would have been amazed at our blindingly fast pace! Especially uphill!  We arrived in Truckee and disembarked for a stroll in town and a license at the Truckee Fly Outfitters, very nice people. After a very relaxing walk in the quaint town we headed north away from 80 to “dry camp” in a Forest service campground. Lovely surroundings and rainbow trout to dry flies.
